Monday Randomness: Slow Cooker Failure, Chocolate Eggs, and Tablecloth Curtains

I had a hilarious post planned for today, but somehow overnight it evaporated from my brain.

So you are getting this dry Monday morning post instead.

Well if you were hiding under a rock this week and didn’t watch or hear any news then you missed that the south got SNOW last week.

This pretty much describes our reaction. (stolen from someone’s Facebook page)

1012051_666090473453118_1503361793_nAnd other than really icy roads on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, it really didn’t affect my week much.

Then Wednesday night I felt as if I had come down with the plague, my husband insisted that I had to stay home from work, therefore I didn’t get out of bed/off the sofa until Thursday around 6 pm.

The rest of the week went off without a hitch.

Except for the fact that I ruined 6 qts worth of homemade soup on Saturday by curdling the milk. I was going to take a picture but it looked too gross for human viewing.

I also FINALLY figured out what to do with the window in the guest bedroom.

I just bought a $12 white cotton tablecloth from Target, cut it in half and made two half size panels for the weird semi-circle window.

It looks SO much better. I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner.

(And if you want to see how far this room as come see the full before and after here)

And now that I have functional curtains in there I will be replacing the mini-blinds with the same bamboo roman shades that I blogged about last week.

And after my rough sick day, I took a trip to CVS to find some allergy medicine and spotted these!

My favorite candy of all time. YUM!

It seriously made my week. But in case you are worried I only bought the tiny pack so I didn’t completely derail my 1200 cal daily diet.

Happy Monday, have a great week!

  1. Sorry you didn’t feel well mid-week but glad you bounced back in time for Cadbury eggs! :) They are yummy! My favorite part of having an inch of snow at our house was making snow cream. It think it equaled out to about 1200 calories but it was oh so good!

Hope you have a great week!
