My Family, Fried Chicken and A Giveaway

Bojangles has always held a special place in my heart which may sound odd, but it’s true.

My great-grandfather who lived in CA would visit us in SC on occasion.

And one of the first things he would ask when he arrived was when could we go get chicken from Bojangles.

He loved it.

And most years when we take our annual trip to pick apples in NC, we pick-up a couple buckets of Bojangles chicken to eat as a picnic lunch in the mountains.

And of course I am always a sucker for Bo-Berry Biscuits and Dirty Rice.

I even developed a recipe to mimic those biscuits of delight.

  1. Oddly enough bailee and I just ate at bojangles today. It was her turn to pick.
She love the green beans (just wish they still had some nutritional value:)

  2. I love some Bojangles. Stop there all the time headed to work. Always get a Cajun filet biscuit and vanilla iced coffee. But I do love those Bo berry biscuits!! :)

  3. Meant to say “fried okra”, but I’m trying to do two things at once! Though I DO love fried chicken, and potato salad and mac and cheese and biscuits…..

  4. Our family loves Bojangles after church on Sunday!! Love their home style strips and definitely have to have their sweet tea!!!

  5. It’s a combo meal of Cold fried Chicken ,deviled eggs and pimento cheese sandwiches. Its a southern thing and a childhood memory.

  6. Um, does it disqualify me from the giveaway to admit that I’ve never eaten there? I have nothing against them–I’ve always wanted to try the Boberry biscuit ever since I read your homemade version=) Growing up overseas left me out of a lot of the food scene over here=) But I do love pretty much any mac and cheese from anywhere!

  7. Fried chicken and coleslaw – but I am particular about what coleslaw I like! My husband is a HUGE fan of Bojangles chicken biscuit.

  8. Southern cooking as a whole is the best! Military brat that I am, I’ve had the opportunity to taste lots of styles of cooking, but there is nothing like a southern barbecue sandwich! With slaw! :)

  9. Biscuits & gravy with fried chicken! Such a weakness….We get Bojangles for every tailgate. Love some dirty rice:)
