Retail Therapy for Friday: Chic Cheap Spring Duds

Old Navy, $20, Women’s Striped Fit & Flare Dresse in Creme Caramel

I love this dress. I think it would look great with coral jewelry. The cut would be flattering on most body types, and I just love the warm mocha color.

Forever 21, Essential Sketched Floral Dress $29.80

I saw this dress in person at Forever 21 in NC. I am still kicking myself for not buying it. So cute.

The customer reviews on it are great, too.

And it’s really not that short. I think this model must be giant height.

Cap-Sleeve Striped Print Dress, $35

I love the flattering lines of this dress by JcPenney…it would hide lots of imperfections.

I would wear it with cute little flats and some chunky bangles.

Okay, don’t judge me for this next grouping of spring picks.

Walmart (yes I said Walmart) just started a new line called The Fitting Room.

They are trying to compete with Target (in my opinion) but I have to say that some of the stuff is super cute, especially the highly rated swim suit collection.

Sail-Away Lightweight Cardigan, $12.88
Lace Back Chiffon Flyaway Cardigan, $13.88
Miss Tina Draped Peplum Top, $13.94

If you ever shop with me you know I am a huge fan of the wedge shoe.

I like that I can wear them all day and my feet (usually) don’t hurt.

Women’s Merona® Marguerite Closed Wedge Canvas Espadrille -Neutral, $29.99

These neutral wedges from Target seem like the perfect thing to pair with all my spring clothes.

They also come in lots of fun colors.

Lulu by Lulu Guinness™ Bow-Tique Mini Crossbody Bag, $30

And last but not least, I am usually a leather bag only kinda girl but these crossbody bags by JcPenneys are so cute and fun for spring.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Housekeeping on a Thursday

I have been procrastinating making some “needed” purchases recently. Finally, this week I took the plunge.

I bought this camera on Monday. Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS Digital Camera with 4X Optical Zoom. I hope I like it. If not, oh well. I needed a basic camera. I also know a little nothing about cameras; so if the camera is not that great I probably won’t be able to tell anyway. It pays to be uninformed this time.:)

Amazon, Canon camera, $179

I recently I have been obsessed with this skirt. Old Navy Jersey Maxi skirt. I am really not an Old Navy kind of girl but I really like that they sell their maxi dresses and skirts in petite so I bought it on Tuesday. It will look great with gladiator sandals or espadrilles. I hope I love it. If not, I will be disillusioned for months. I really get my heart set on dumb things. I also threw in this yellow polka dot cami because I thought it matched my new camera nicely. Now you know how my brain works.  Happy Thursday!

Old Navy, $24.95 Maxi Skirt
Old Navy Ruffle Cami, $16

New outfit for spring on the cheap

I got notice earlier this week that I will get my bonus check  this Friday. The my first thought was “Well most of it will go towards savings but I will buy an inexpensive spring outfit with part of it.” Here is what I settled on after shopping online during my lunch break on Tuesday.

Tip: I almost always buy my clothes off season. I usually stock up in the fall on clearance summer clothes and in the spring I stock up on clearance winter clothes. One of my favorite finds this fall was an Ann Taylor cotton tank blouse for $3.97. And last week I found black suede boots in Gaffney, originally $175. I paid $34!
